Installing eventabee means your store is processing visitor event data on a server-side pipeline. Most jurisdictions require that your privacy policy describe this processing. The wording below is a starting point — talk to your lawyer before publishing.
What to disclose
- What data is collected. Page views, product interactions, cart activity, checkout events, purchases, and marketing attribution parameters (UTMs, click IDs).
- How it’s collected. Via first-party scripts running on your storefront and server-side from your Shopify backend.
- Where it goes. The processing happens on servers operated by us (innovonics, the app publisher) and is forwarded to the advertising and analytics destinations you’ve enabled.
- Retention. The event store keeps records for a set period (we default to 30 days — adjustable per shop).
- Rights. Access, deletion, and opt-out contact points.
Sample clause
Analytics and advertising. We use eventabee (provided by innovonics) to collect and forward information about how you interact with our store (page views, products viewed, items added to cart, purchases) to advertising and analytics providers we have chosen to work with. This helps us measure the performance of our marketing and improve our store. Depending on your region you may be asked to consent before any optional data is shared. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of our site.
The categories of recipients depend on which integrations we have enabled. These may include (non-exhaustive): Meta, Google, TikTok, Klaviyo, Pinterest, Snapchat, Segment, PostHog.
You have the right to request access to or deletion of your personal data. Contact us at [privacy email].
Destination list
For transparency, disclose which destinations are live. Your dashboard at Destinations lists them — copy that list into your policy and keep it in sync.
When to update
- Any time you add or remove a destination
- If you change your retention period
- If you change your consent modes (e.g., expand opt-in regions)
