Pinterest’s Conversions API accepts server-side events. It dedupes with the Pinterest Tag on event_id.
1. Find your ad account ID
Pinterest Ads → Business Hub → Ads Manager. Ad account ID is visible in the top-left dropdown next to your account name (a ~15-digit number).
2. Generate a Conversions API token
Pinterest Ads → Ads Manager → Conversions → API settings → Generate access token. Copy it — Pinterest does not show it again.
3. Paste into eventabee
Destinations → Pinterest → Connect. Paste ad account ID and access token. Save.
4. Verify
Pinterest’s Event History view (under Conversions) lists incoming events. It has a ~5 minute lag. Trigger a few events from your storefront, wait, check the history. You should see your events tagged as “Conversion API” (not just “Pinterest Tag”).
Consent
Pinterest → Marketing category.
Event mapping
Pinterest’s standard events: page_visit, add_to_cart, checkout, signup, lead, custom. eventabee maps standard Shopify events automatically.
Troubleshooting
- “Missing required fields.” Pinterest requires a user identifier (hashed email, phone, or
click_id). Confirm one of these is populated in your events. - Events arrive but aren’t attributed. The visitor must have a Pinterest click ID (
epikparam on the URL). If you’re testing with a direct URL visit, attribution won’t happen — click through a Pin first.
